I don't think I would ?? Never have and don't plan to. I have went from totally againest to undecided this year. Several guys have posted on TnDeer over the years about non hunting neighbors feeding deer beside thier property or where thier hunting. The way the law is now they are breaking the law hunting deer coming or going from the feed.

Whats the difference in baiting with corn and planting unnatural "food plots" in secluded areas. Food plots are just bait you can grow.

I started out as an apprentice baiter in bear camp.
Is the hunting so bad this year we have to go through this again?

I'm from KY and use corn piles. I have hunted over them and while most people think you can kill a big buck over it, it is not that simple. Most big bucks I get on my cameras come in after dark. Therefore, you have to learn that path the bucks are using and set up on them away from the pile. Now, I mainly use the corn piles for inventory of my bucks on my cameras after gun season. One quick note, I have noticed that the does will keep the bucks away from the corn if there are several deer around. Anyway you look at baiting, it is not a guanrantee that you will harvest big deer. Some friends and I have been doing it for years and we have never killed a buck over the corn.

if you consider setting a mouse trap, mouse hunting...then I guess baiting is hunting to you......
Also...........I consider food plots as baiting as well. No difference IMO. Food plots, in most cases are unnatural food sources planted for one reason, to draw deer. Hunting over them is just not natural, IMO. Corn and beans are not the same simply because of the agricultural value of those products.....Is anyone harvesting and feeding their kids Chicory or Whitetail Clover?
Hunting over fruit trees like similar but since these trees grow nayutally in the wild, it's perfectly acceptable.
No, I would not do it.
Hunting the rut is not even similar simply because in baiting you are drawing deer to one central location...during the rut, they can pretty much go where they please.
One thing that maybe no one has thought about.......if everyone baits, then baiting would not be as beneficial......sort of like a good mass crop or when all the farmers in your area plants corn or beans.......the deer have no need to travel for food so sightings go down. the deer will soon learn that feeding on this bait should only occur at night because of the pressure and thus rendering the baiting practice useless......
better get back to deer hunting basics because the deer will adapt to the baiting ......

also....if you were around when roboduck came out, then you know what a sensation it was.....not anymore.....
the ducks grew used to seeing them and became more and more wary of them....
the same with baiting. the deer will not take long to wise up and baiting will be basically useless.......unless of course, you legalize spotlighting.
