Since this thread is so long and old, I have no clue if I have posted already or not, so I'll post just in case...
Summit...I have an Ol' Man but it is only good if you leave it in the tree so that you do not have to bring it back again...Bought a Summit two years ago and could not be happier. It's light, easy to use, safe and you can have it basic or fully loaded and very reasonably priced.

I just ordered a Summit Viper SS yesterday. Can't wait to put it on a tree.

Have you looked into a cougar claw treestand. very affordable and has same innovative ideas as a summit. But going with original question a summit is great.
