Any suggestions for a boat insurance company with good rates and good service if you ever need to make a claim?

Not sure on claims because I've never had to use it, but I have mine through shelter ins. I also have our vehicles and house with them so I get really good rates. I think my boat ins is $20 a month for full coverage.

I use progressive. I have never had a claim, so I don't know how service is. The rates are low though.

I have everything that the wife and I own through Farm Bureau. The best and cheapest I've ever seen. We got tired of bending over for State Farm so we looked at all options and Farm bureau was the cheapest. 2 cars, 1 truck, my boat and our house. We saved 900.00/year!!!!!!

Check out BoatUS

You can get a free online quote. For my needs, they were extremely competitive.

Like others, I've never had to make a claim... but I've called to ask questions on more than one occasion and always had very fast, efficient service.

My boat insurance is due to expire at the end of this month with
Geico Ski Safe $257. I got a quote from BoatUS $310 and although it was slightly higher it was a lot better coverage.
A lot better coverage on liability, theft, uninsured boaters and most of all medical for passengers.

I had to agree to a (Nov-March) 4 month "low water" lay up clause in the Geico plan to get the $248 rate. 4 months is along time for a boat to set because you cant use it.

I plan to change to BoatUS next week.

$395 for a Nitro 288 sport w/ 200hp engine. Insurance through Ski Safe. Biggest problem is that we cannot make monthly payments, they only accept 1 lump sum from us.

Have never made a claim with the current insurance company. Had one claim w/ USAA but they dont cover boats anymore.

Boat US. We had a tornado and they paid the claim on the boat before my homeowners even came by the house. Just insured a 2009 triton for $550 for the year. If you take the online boating class you get 10% savings. Give them a shot. They are great to work with.
