Finally got a boat and plan on doing some walleye fishing over the next year.

Only problem is I have no idea what I am doing. Caught them by accident a few times but nothing I could repeat on purpose.

Any suggestions for a newbie?

we use smaller tuffies on a drop shot rig on the caney and catch them fairly consistent. also helps to beam a light into the water where you are casting, they will come to it for the bait fish.

a tuffie is a fathead minnow... and here you go for the dropshot rig, http://www.wikihow.com/Fish-a-Drop-Shot-Rig just apply the artificial bait info to a minnow and there you go

right now i like fishing the edge of structure, whether it is a sudden change in bottom elevation or near the walls of the dam (i only do that from the bank) or near the ends of runs around the dam

I only fish for them at night during the full moon. I cast long-bill rebels up against the bank to catch them.

Cool! Thanks. Ruger.... Bite me~! \:D

So they like drop offs? Do they get up shallow during the day or only at night?

Is there a general rule for finding them?

like Deep in winter, shallow in summer?
