You can plot out the temp here:

http://www2.mvr.usace.army.mil/WaterControl/stationinfo2.cfm?sid=CFST1&fid=&dt=S

Even with generation, we aren't getting anywhere close to 50 this year. Generation has been dropping the temp to the mid-60s but that's it. It ran a little cooler today but still didn't get below 62.

I fished yesterday and did well in the upper river, but it was very slow downstream from Congo. The water obviously warms a little as it moves downstream, especially below the Smith Fork influx.

Still, if we get a sustained warming trend, we'll eventually hit a temp where the trout can't tolerate it. My gut feeling is that we're one heavy rain away from a lot of problems.

All the big fish aren't downstream. I saw one yesterday that would easily go 15 lbs less than a mile from the dam.

Not sure where you have been or if you have been reading this site lately but I wanted to give you a heads up that looking for trouble will definately find it for you and VERY little will be tolerated. Thank you and carry on.

W/e, Scrubs. Like I said before, let it go.

I spend much more time on the upper river than I do on the lower end. Biggest Caney trout I've ever caught was within sight of Happy Hollow. The bigger fish aren't in some "secret spot" downriver where nobody goes - people just don't know how to fish for them.

If I really were as devious as you think, I'd post a bunch of grip-and-grin pictures and glowing reports, and I'd send everybody on the Internet down to South Carthage where the river is about 75 degrees right now.

Then they wouldn't catch anything, and they'd all go to the Clinch instead.

I waded it today. I decided I wanted numb ankles so I left waders and boots at home. It wasn't cold at all. Not like I remember 4 years ago being the first time I stepped foot in that river. But I did catch a 18 inch rainbow \:D best yet for me.
