Sprinkle grated hot peppers around in the flower beds. This also works to keep the dogs from watering your plants. $\:\($

Also grated Irish Spring soap sprinkled around will help keep them away and neither will hurt the plants.

A pie pan smeared with peanut butter , hooked to a metal wire wrapped around flower bed , rigged to a solar panel. They will [censored] a brick trying to get away from that bed.
