I like Action Optics. The big difference between expensive sunglasses and the cheapos is glass lenses. Cheap plastic lenses will scratch up after a while, and that will affect clarity big time. Glass is heavier but the clarity and durability is worth it.

Action Optics also offers photochromic lenses that will darken in the sun but lighten up early and late, so you can get the benefit of polarized lenses at the peak fishing hours. Can't get that from the cheapos.

I have owned a lot of different sunglasses.
My Hobie's back in the day were a favorite.
First pair of costas were good. Now I understand that the frame quality is slipping and they break easily. They will warranty them but it still costs you.

I wear prescription glasses so my needs are a little different.

If you are forking out the $$$ for p-script shades, find out if the polarization is sandwiched in the lens or added on like window tint. Sandwiched is best. Having a scratch resistant coating helps too but make sure its applied to BOTH sides of the lens.

I quit buying designer shades when I discovered that sams/costco optical department can get me Script sunglasses with the sandwiched polarization AND a second pair of regular glasses for what I was paying for the designer shades. Don't know what lab they use for making the lenses but I have been satisfied with the quality and performance.
If you can't trust people with freedom, how can you trust them with power ?

Costa Del Mar

There is a big difference in cheap sunglasses and quality optics if you are sight fishing in deep "clear" water. I have seen it first hand and had to learn the hard way. I bought a pair of Costas the next week. However, I only wear them from March to May and use a pair of cheap sunglasses from Wally World the rest of the year. I am prone to lose them so I only use them when I really need them.
I pray to fish until my dying day. When it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, when in the Lord's safe landing net & I'm at peace that in His mercy I be judged big enough to keep.

Good advice fellas...I wear Revos when driving but they aren't worth beans for use while fishing. Any particular online sight you use to buy sunglasses or do you go right to the store so you can try them on...there are some ok prices online...

Costas were a little to pricey for what I want them for...I went with the Hobie Riptides...found them for $59 with free delivery. Now I need to get some "frogs" to hold 'em so I don't drop 'em overboard at the next tourney! Those Berkleys seem like a decent pair of sunglasses for the bucks too...
