Lately I've had a lot of trout chasing my white streamers but not hitting it.

What do you do in this situation? Change colors? Change size? Change retrieve?

Go to the internet and ask?

Only cure is to change fish. Trout are famous for that tactic. However, even though I don't fling flies, I'd go to a smaller lure.

Quit fishing white streamers. Fish with insect imitations the trout are seeing all the time and eating. Pump a fish's stomach to get an idea.

Don't know about fly fishing, but they were chasing my rooster tail like that last Friday. If I would slow it down they would back off, but if I would speed up my retrieve they would nail it. I guess I was getting a reaction bite that way. Again, I don't know if this will help because I know nothing about fly fishing. \:\)

It takes real discipline to do that. Last week I caught 24 on white streamers and only 10 on nymphs. I lost about 15 more on streamers and had several chasers, but didn't notice anything like that with the nymphs.

Of course, I was using the streamers when there was one generator running, and only switched to nymphs after the current (and action) slowed and the water started to drop. Maybe the activity was due to current and not tactic.

Yeah, I can only strip a fly so far until my arm is too far behind me, then I have to stop and grab more line. They always seem to stop chasing when the strip stops.

That sounds exactly like the way they were acting with me as well.
