Guys, a few of my friends an I are wanting to have a little creek fishing tour. in our jon boats. If you were going to make rules and guidelines what would they be? I am open for all answers. I was thinking size, weight, and maybe have a time set on when we had to check in our catches. Would you do top five fish or amount caught? Just want to make it more fun! Come join in if you like!

If you want to do catch and release, you could use a digital camera to photograph each fish on a belly board and go by total inches instead of total weight. That simplifies things since most jon boats don't have decent livewells.

me and a couple of friends have done this two weeks in a row now and its been more of a brim and red eye tourny... we are savin up the fish for a fry and we have been countin them over six inches... at 6 inches some seem small but you can get a lil meat... we were thinking of maybe a 3 or 5 bass best total weight for the next time... i just dont like keepin them cause we dont really catch big enough thats worth keepin... the brim and red eye tourny is fun when they are bitin good...what creek yal gonna fish?

thanks guys...what is the size of an average red eye, perch, or keeper bass? In our tournaments we only allow artificial baits as it is to easy to catch brim off worms. What baits have yall been using? We usually fish in the lawrence county(shoal creek) and Giles County (Richland).

we fish in richland creek and we caught good red eye in there last week...most were 8 inches or better i think...we knew they were better then 6 so we didnt measure them...june bug lizards and rooster tails are mainly what they were using i used worms lol... it was a brim and red eye and we keep it open to use what ever you want...we may actually be going on wednesday but im not sure...i dont really know the average sizes we just keep what we can eat...

brian has a good idea with the digital camera but our luck it would get ruined ... half the time we have more water in the boat then whats in the creek haha

If you fish and want to take pictures on the water, take a look at the waterproof Pentax Optio or Olympus Stylus. They are getting cheaper all the time and they take great pictures. You don't have to worry about the hassle of dunking your camera ever again. I got an Olympus and I love it. It's cool to take underwater pictures of the fish too.
