lots of corn be real good for late season hunting once the combines harvest
look for feilds where they did a poor job

soybean feilds are gonna draw deer like magnets in the early season and they already are now!!!!!!!

tons of good acorns on the white oaks hunt the north and east side slopes of white oak areas been kinda dry, those sides hold water better in kinda dry conditions from less exposure to the sun at times

make a glow tack trail in every area you go into man for future reference when you find good deer sign then you got a back up plan for a couple of different areas once established over a period of time.

who knows you might find a real good spot at the end of it
people mark the start and end of their trail in different shapes of tack arrangements

In your alls opinions, if the farther away from the fort the better or are certain spots better than others no matter the proximity to the fort?

correct , i hunted the yr before several times and never seen anything..lol, which area will it be this yr ,couple yrs back it was 26 9a the yr before

they did a lot of logging in those areas and they are thick so the big bucks have moved into those areas even more.

I really hate the new phone in they started a couple of years ago.I use to call back after I had an area and check later in the day or next day to see if someone checked out of a better area.Now you are stuck with what you get first.Can't call and check areas anymore.

For all the guys that live in and around the Nashville area, do you go up the night before and pick up your permit, or do you just wait for MWR to open up the morning of your hunt? I have to work most saturdays, so I have to get off work and haul up to the fort and pick mine up for Sunday. Does anyone else do this. Drive to campbell pick up your permit go home then drive back the next morning to hunt.

don't know why they can't leave them in a box outside for people to get after they close.we have to hurry from knoxville to get ours and hope we don't hit a traffic jam on the way.

Next time I go to outdoor rec I will mention that. Will probably be talking to the wrong person though.

Military jurisdiciton probably wont like it. They want to know who is running around with weapons and it would be to easy for someone to abuse the system if they didnt have to show up in person.

they migrated to parts unknown
just squirrels and pesky turkeys in those areas now

its going to be harder this yr to get a area anyway ..lots of soliders came home finally...look for all the 40"s and 50's to be full before we can call in, it will be alot tougher this yr..i bet 1 or 2 of us want get a spot opening weekend. 2-3 week should have a few openings but also come nov it will be even harder...i know several who drive 4 hrs just to wait on a spot i wouldnt do that this yr.

I just moved from California to TN, due to PCS Orders did most of my hunting out at VAFB CA with them blacktail deer and pigs, did some calls when I found out that I had orders to TN to FtCampbell, lady said I can take a doe a day up until the season was over only if I used a bow. Anyhoo how do we reserve the hunting areas?

I have hunted Camp Pendleton, VAFB CA, Camp Roberts CA, and Fort Hunter Liggett CA, and if I were to tell you that there was no deer on any one of these Military Bases, I'd be lying to you all.....

Whether it's harder to get an area or not! I think it will all be worth it...

if u was on there web site looking at pics then theres a link on there about calling in and etc should help answer all ur questions. has far has a bow kill a day ,im thinking the rule on that is only in 1 0r 2 BOW only areas its 3 a day just like unit L ..im guessing on this but i think its bow area 01 and 07 thats it ..i dont think 00b is in there and 14a either i could be wrong about 00b because its close to area 1 and 7..
