I'm thinking of trying Montec or Hellrazor this year. Had some bad luck last year, mostly because of deer jumping the string. Even though it wasn't the fault of the Slick Tricks, I just need to change something! Since I need to replace the Slick Tricks, I may as well try something else.

Anyway, my question is if any of you use the practice blades, and are they worth using? Are they hard on the target? I'm afraid the dull blades might rip up my foam targets. It would be cheaper to just buy three more hunting blades and use one of them for all my practice, than to replace a foam target.

I use muzzys practice blades on my broadheads. I shoot each arrow with the broadhead on the arrow that it will be on in my quiver. That way there isn't any second guessing weather is going to fly correct or not. If going to purchase new heads, I've heard alot of good things about the Rage heads. They say they fly just like a field tip.

The Rages pretty much so fly just like a field tip. They usually come with a practice tip but as far as your foam target last year me and a buddy done alot of damage to our delta deer almost cut him in half invest in a good target i learned that last year for sure plus with that delta deer, shoot sometimes we thought we were going to have to hook the truck up to the arrow to get it out..

I use practice blades on BH that offer them , and they do fly the same . Depending on the design , they can reduce damage on the target .
Montecs are a good head . I shoot the G5 Strikers too .
