there is pike in KY lake??? I want to go for those sooo badly... how to you come across those?

That is actually a chain pirckle (spelling?). They are a close cousin to a pike, like a southern version.

do they get much bigger than that down here? What are some methods of fishing specific for that species?

Yeah, it's a chain pickeral. I've caught quite a few in Kentucky Lake and Pickwick. I reckon that's a decent one. State record for Chain Pickeral is 7 lbs. 7 ozs. I figure that one was every bit of 3-4 lbs. Just guessing??? I catch them alot on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Also had them hit big lizards, craws, and brush hogs.
