As some have read the last trip stretch and I made with rsimms we decided to keep track of the weight and numbers of every fish we caught.
We have talked about doing this several times but never have.

Anyway, we weighed and recorded, along with the initial of who caught the fish and wrote it down.

Of course rsimms laughed at us but when he under guessed for the weekend pretty bad I think we made a believer out of him.

Anyway, when it was all said and done through two days of fishing believe it or not stretch and I were ONE FISH apart on total number caught each.
We were going to add up the total weight for each of us and see who took the weight title but lack of sleep and the fact that he tagged a 50 pounder for the very first fish he caught we decided not to mess with it.

Anyway, next time you and your partner are fishing, take an extra few seconds on each fish and record them. You might be surprised at the true number of fish you catch AND the total weight of your trip.

Just something that makes it a little more fun.

Dern Ruger if it is in black and white and recorded you can't stretch the truth about what was caught.

Ruger-For three years we have been doing that at the place I go down South. We have the data on over 2200 bass samples.

Now what do we do with it? We're shutting the gates.

I'll let you record and weigh each carp we stick. \:D

Just tired and old. Asking 12.5 mil but won't get it. Hunting and fishing as good as it has ever been. We are catching 10# bass out of lakes that less than 5 years old and bream pushing 1.5 pounds. We just got old and tired. Have 23 years of deer data. Live weights, age, dressed weights, sex, fetal development.

On the fish we have annual growth rate, weight per inch, annual increase, stomach contents on some, forage preference etc.

Lots of good data. A couple on this site have been there, seen it. We are just worn out.

Me and my partner fish 25 or more times a year together and are very competitive. Last year I srarted keeping up with our total fish count while we were fishing with each other. Last year he beat me by 6 fish in 26 outings. Right now he is up by 5. I was getting concerned about a runaway this year but I doubled him 10-5 this past Saturday.

I'll tell you what is interesting, I have been keeping a journal for over 30 years. Don't write in it everyday but most days. During hunting season I keep it pretty updated and when I fish I do the same. Some of the entries from the 70's are real interesting. I can pretty well track fish and game management in TN.

I am very good friends with a guy how has keep a journal scents he was in collage he is now in his late 60s or early 70s he has recorded every fish he has caught what he was using, has recorded every duck, goose, dove and deer that he has killed and what gun he killed them with. I was talking to him one day as he was writing in his book, and he looked it up don’t ask me what year it was but he killed more deer that ducks (11 deer 8 duck I think). He had his 1000th duck mounted several years ago.

It is very interesting to go back and look at that kind of thing.

I cant do it takes to much time.
