Actually I did long, long ago when I was actually somewhat industrious. Poured plastics and tied my own killer fox tail hair jigs. But I have since outgrown all that and prefer to pay someone else to do my work for me.

Actually my first "plastic" lures were made from an old "Creepy Crawler" set I had as a kid. Anybody remember those besides me?

I had a TWRA buddy who could never find the "perfect" plastic worms with a body of one certain color and a tail of another color. So he would buy bags of each color worm.... cut the tails off of each and then remelt them back together to create his combination.

I always thought he was crazy, and he sure did stink up the office. But he won a lot of tournaments.

I have four molds and still have some worms and lizzards from
these molds. Started making them in the late 1960's, still have
the molds

Caught alot of fish with those plastics. Don't do them anymore
easier to buy them now days.

Back when I was a kid you could buy something like a worm rig for $1 or you could put 5 or 10 cents in one of those gum machines which spit out plastic worms in those little plastic bubbles and rig it yourself. I caught alot of bass off them. Changing line on reels wasn't an option either. The money just wasn't there. I wish I had a quarter for every hour I spent on a pond bank untangling backlashes learning how to use a bait casting reel.
