Fished Monday and today at Paris - probably caught between 50-60 bass in those 2 days. Biggest was a 5.5 lm caught on a series 6 Strike King on a hump. Caught a 3.4 smallmouth on a drop yesterday afternoon on a carolina rig. Caught a ton of small fish on a baby brush hog on spinning rod. Caught a 3 lb lm on a sexy spoon - vertical jigging off a drop. Caught 2 lm today that would probably go around 3-3.5 on a carolina rig on the same drop I caught the smallmouth on yesterday. Caught some fish late in the afternoon on buzzbaits in the back of a creek. If you don't catch fish on KY lake right now something is bad wrong. I've got a feeling you are going to see some serious weights starting tomorrow in the Elite Series up there.

Thanks buddy!

Awesome report also, KSBuck.

KVD ought to catch some whoppers off of his ledge near the Hwy 79 Bridge. Let's just say they're definitely there! ;\)

Thanks guys!

I'm headed out there again this weekend. Sounds like drop-offs with carolina rigs, maybe a few pop-R's and buzz baits, and some brush hogs will do the trick.

I fully expect a 30lb bag to be brought to the scales in the Elite. I've never seen the lake keep the weights this high into June. My partner and I caught 27lb 8oz of post spawn fish Saturday in a tournament out of Trace creek and I know someone had 26 and change in the Triton owners tourney last weekend.

I feel so fortunate to have a fishery like that within 50 miles. I used to drive 600 miles to Lake Fork. I think KY Lake is THAT good.

Dadgum, what a sack username! Need another partner? Lol!

I agree 100% on Ky Lake being one of the premier lakes in the South, if not the country.

It was a sure enough special kinda day. The cool thing was that we had that bag by 9am and actually culled a couple fish pushing 5lb! Too bad it wasn't paying 100K. ;\)

I'm not trying to get in on your spots or anything, but was it on deep structure?

You've been killing them at KY Lake this year it seems!

Bobby Lane had 24-9 today and said he caught the whole 24-9 in his first 8 casts on a ledge. Said he's only fished maybe 2 hrs in the first 2 days of the tourney. Just defended his hole pretty much.

Guess that's something I need to get better at. Need good electronics, I would imagine.

I can't remember the last bass I caught on a buzzbait. That's fun stuff. Thanks for sharing.

It's really as simple as finding the right size shad and figuring out feeding times. Sounds alot easier than it really is though. You can literally sit on fish all day and not know it and in 15 minutes have 5lbers crawlin in the boat. Then they turn off as quick as they turn on. If you drift or troll a ledge and catch a good fish at all, you can just about bet that there are many, many more that same size very close by. Although they sometimes mix with smaller fish they for the most part school by size and age. From my experience on KY lake, especially in the summer, you'll find 2-3lb schools and 4-6lb schools with an occaisonal 7lber. I haven't been so fortunate to find fish bigger than that schooled up. Any fish I've caught bigger than that have been loners.

Fully understanding the sonar is something I really need to do myself. Thank goodness I'm not fishing deep clear stuff or I'd be hoeing a garden or something while deer season was closed. \:\)

Lol! I appreciate the insight, my friend. Maybe I can get out and try it here soon.
