I am looking for a couple of good places to fish around Memphis. Anywhere is Shelby, Fayette, or Tipton counties. I would love to catch some bass, bream, or crappie. I am tired of fishing the little backwoods pond on my property...anyone got any ideas? Please do not say Herb Parsons. That could be the worst spot in the history of fishing. Thanks.

In Fayette, your options are very limited, that is where I'm from. The Wolf river runs through Moscow and you can keep the fish through that stretch unlike in Memphis, its a great place for Catfish and bass, both spotted and largemouth. Whiteville lake is in Hardeman county just outside fayette and has produced some good bass and is a good place for bluegill. In tipton, Glen Springs Lake is a great place for bass and even better for catfish, ask mossyhorns about there, I know the lake but he has mastered. In shelby there are quite a few places, Popular Tree lake in Shelby Forest State park is good for bass, bluegill, shellcrackers and crappie and there is no limit on the crappie, Lakeview is off of I-55 north and is a good panfish lake. Also a great area to fish is in Haywood county right on I-40 and that is the Upper Hatchie refuge, lots of small lakes off the river and the river itself and good fishing for almost every species, just have to wait for the river to go down a little bit. One more thing is in Lauderdale county and that is around the John Tully WMA, Cold Creek, Champion lake and several others and The Fort Pillow State Park Lake are all good fishing, hope this helps

The fishing was red hot for bass before all the rain, your guess is as good as mine now, I'm not real sure where the guy I know puts in, yea I forgot to mention those, knida weird since I like going down to the spillway at archabutla and sardis

You're right. There are no fish in Herb Parsons!
