Thanks for the info.

I thought this was an interesting stat:

The percentage of juvenile male turkeys, commonly called “jakes,” in this year’s harvest started out low on opening day, but by the end of the season it had increased to 22 percent. That is close to the average in the past 10 years.

Yep
Mo still kills more birds in three weeks than TN does in six

If I'm not mistaken the hunter numbers are over 150K in Missouri and below 100K in TN. I would think this would make a pretty good difference also. ;\)

You might be right about hunter numbers but
1. Mo season starts on a Monday
2. Hunters are only allowed 1 bird opening week
3. With Tn season opening up as early as it does and the
location of Tn alot of hunters from Illinois, Ky, Mo, take advantage of our 4 bird limit and come here to hunt weeks before their season starts

And I guess Mo gets no out of state hunters? What are you trying to prove about tn?

Mo gets alot of out of state hunters/and so does Tn, Just go to any WMA during the first week of our season and you will see. My point is this/ tn has a 4 bird limit, Mo has a 2 bird limit. TN season is 6 weeks to 3 in Mo. And Mo kills 15-20 K more than Tn
I just dont get these leberal bag limits in tn. They set our season limits before any kill or poult numbers are in

What do 2009 poult counts have to do with the 2010 regulations, other than, of course, give them an indication of how many jakes there might be? I'll give you that kill stats would be useful in setting regs, but IMO poult counts(for the next season) would not.
