are you using the safety slides on your arrows? i hate them things. all they are good for is losing arrows.

Yeah, I have them on all my arrows. How are they causing you to loose arrows? So far I've had no trouble at all.

Maybe I got a good set. I shot with the same arrow over the weekend, probably around 100 shots, and it hasn't broke yet. I think mine are AMS.

i notice you are also shooting a recurve. i use a low poundage compound. maybe that has something to do with it.

May very well be. So far they have worked perfectly. The shooter, however, has not.

My compound is 50# at 28". I'm drawing right at 53#. Your compound heavier then that?

You should make a trip up and over. I've rigged up a 16' alum tracker just for it! Going to add 3, 400 watt HPS lights in the near future. We can shoot until we are tired of shooting.

It's a friggin blast! It's the only thing I've traded in for turkey time since I've been hunting. You should travel north, too, grasshopper. I stuck a 4000 watt genny on the boat and plan on shoosting until the early morning hours.

I used to shoot a recurve at them when I was a kid, but had to get a compound cause I was bouncing off of bigger fish or it wouldnt penetrate deep enough to harvest the fish. I havent done it in about 15 years, it is fun!

I guess it depends on the poundage and draw length. My recurve is 50# at 28". I shoot 29" so I'm pulling right at 53 pounds. This seems to be a perfect weight. I can shoot fish up to three feet deep and get a complete pass through or just shy of complete.

I think recurve is the way to go. Your shots are never that far and its more fun. I use to shoot at night some on priest. It is a blast. Nice pic showmehorns! What lake is that?

The lake is Patrick Henry. Here is a few more from there in the past couple weeks.
