I like hunting alone, you are always the shooter and only make half as much noise. I like to hunt with others on occassion, but cherish the alone time in the woods.

I agree....much more fun to hunt with a buddy. Easier to get motivated, too. Can't wait to get my 5 year old l'il girl out for actual hunting. We just go piddle in the woods and plink right now.

I prefer hunting alone, although several times a year I will take someone if they want to go.
The last guy I took was a 46 yr old retired military spec-ops guy. I figured he'd have some woodsmanship skills just from being in the mystical world of 'spec-ops'. Uh, yeah... That was a wrong assumption on my part.
I told him to quit stepping on logs as we crossed them, because sooner or later one would snap, and he would go with it. I told him that while they might not look rotten laying there 2 or 3 feet above the ground, you never know how much decomposition had taken place underneath the bark. About 10 minutes later I heard the snap behind me as he stepped on another one, and of course he broke his leg. It took everything I had to help get him back to the truck.
He started vomiting from the pain, and his leg was major screwed.
I got some ibuprofin down his throat, and beat a path to the hospital as quickly as I could.
And I took my non-hunting friends teenage daughter hunting last year. She'd been practicing in her backyard, and was a good shot. So I go to pick her up at 4am, and she's wearing Precious Perfume by Brittney Spears, and has on all her makeup, and her hair was fixed...like she was going out on the town or something. I just said, "Uh, yeah...okay." I mean, she's a little girl. I didn't want to preach to her or anything and have her start crying, so I just sat her in the blind, and we didn't see anything (probably because of the HUGE scent trail we left). My blind still smells like Brittney Spears...or maybe a prostitute...I'm not sure which...
Come to think of it, I'll just hunt alone from now on...

The ultimate hunting experience for me has been to double on two strutting longbeards with my son.
Granted it is much harder to work with two people, but my son is always the primary shooter. As long as I can get them in range, I don't care who pulls the trigger. I get a bigger thrill out of his excitement over a kill than I do if I kill. He is an adult now but will always be my primary shooter.
