IF it's true, then I'm glad he got him but would not ever try that long of a shot myself!
The fun is seeing how close you can get them in!

Too a certain point I agree, then close is too dam close \:\) . 3 steps is a little close, and even though it only happened once it was more then I could take, and certainly more then his head was designed to endure.

First bird I ever killed was at 3 FEET!!! Completely severed his head from his body. Total luck to even hit the bird that close, though. I actually missed one at around 3 yards a few years back.

Anyone that shoots at turkeys that far, knowing full and well that their gun doesnt pattern well enough for a clean kill, should be banned from hunting all together.

I saw a man kill an antelope with a bow at 93yds, laser ranged. I should also note that he was an Olympic archer and had set up to kill this particular antelope. He practiced the shot for an entire day before killing the animal. If it was that guy, shooting a bow, I could believe it. But it wasnt, so I dont.

One thing that needs not be forgotten is that there is a difference in "yards" and steps.

If he didn't laser range it, then he may have killed it at 81 steps, but if isn't very big, that may very well be 60-65 yards.

Otherwise, he got lucky, very lucky. It isn't that that there wasn't any pellets to hit it, it's the fact that they had enough energy left to penetrate the bone.

Makes me livid to hear this BS, sure it may have happened, but why? Why risk crippling a bird? Some folks are so immature and so hard up to kill something they shouldn't be allowed to hunt.

Sorry for the bluntness, but that is how I feel.

Well said, guys. It's idiots like this that give hunters a bad name.

I sure wouldn't be bragging about a 81 yard shot. Pretty sad is what it is.

wow, not sure why you take one that far but impressive non the less. Killed alot of birds in the past years but the furthest was 42 yds. didnt feel the need to shoot any further then that. Didnt really want to take that one but had to in the setting.

i like them CLOSE!!! lol i have killed 80% of my birds at less then 20yds.

Only impressive thing is the lack of respect some people have for the game they "hunt".
