Myself and the folks I interact with could say the same if we whacked every jake which had come to a call, jakes don't count \:\) . So far 7 of us have killed 24 birds. Some from Middle and West TN, but a couple from here as well.

I have one tag left and the woods are pretty quiet. I did work 4 different birds this morning all of which were henned up to heyall and back. It was good to actually hear some gobbling, even if they didn't start until after 8:00 am.

LMAO, I hear ya, killed the first jake this year that I have shot in many years, my pretty boy fans were gettin beat up badly and I needed a couple replacement fans, I wont use a full fan.
I however am not nearly as picky and really not a very good turkey hunter, any mature bird normally loses his head around me, and actually have for many years now!
I hunt 95% of the time right here close to home, but I am gona take my boys to one of our farms and spend a few days shooting those western Tn birds!

I understand and wish now I had unloaded a little hate on one of the jakes which have danced around me like pixies earlier in the season.

Slow time right now, I think there are birds and plenty of them, just henned up big time as a result of a massive hatch last year.

The lower elevation birds seem to be gobble crazy from the reports I hear, but the high country birds are as fickle as ever.

West TN was good to me, almost too good and ended my season.

It's been absolutely terrible for me in the mountains. Seems every year the gobbling gets worse. I have walked many miles to hear nothing. I'll be getting after them in the morning. Hope to get one roosted this evening. It's been a while since I've roosted a bird and got to get on him at light.

I worked a pair of loudmouth longbeards this morning myself, trying to get my Dad on a bird but the hens lost interest and led them on their way! We have way too many hens here, Im actually seeing quite a few flocks of hens only, unbelievable for this time of year, did I say we need some hen season of some sort!!@!!

I'm hearing and seeing more gobblers in McMinn, Meigs, and Roane counties than I ever have in the past. Maybe you guys from the West have driven them this way.
