why dont you just come back to west tn and get your last bird? prolly save you some walking, unless you just need the exercise.

Yeah, but the tornado was in February before the season. I don't think it bothered the turkeys at all. Normally, we don't have many turkeys in the spring on this Centerville property, but we had a pretty good bunch last year, none of which were killed. I had 6 chances within about 40 yards, 3 within bow range but never got to loose an arrow.

I don't know where they've gone this year. Maybe they are just being quiet, so I'm going to keep after it.

this year wasnt as bad as i expected it to be. last year the main peice of property i hunt 0 birds killed on 500 acres. this year 2 longbeards and a first timer killed a jake. this morning i heard what sounded like 4 diffrent longbeards. whats depressing is when there are plenty of birds, but you cant killem even when you feel like your doing everything right. i had one double and triple gobble till about 8:30 this a.m, but he was acting like a turkey and wouldnt come to my great calling. \:\)
if your gonna be stupid you gotta be tough.

I used to hunt the mountains a lot in my younger days and had to deal with the no gobbling crap. Farmland/rolling hill birds are much more talkative.

I've been turkey hunting since 1997 and this is the ABSOLUTE WORST season I have had pertaining to gobble numbers as well as gobbler sightings. I'm right there with ya. I'm headed to Williamson County this weekend. Hope it is better there.

Total Opposite for me and my buddies! We are hunting these East TN hills and having numerous birds gobbling every morning. Many are with hens as usual, but Gobblers and Jakes are plentiful as well. East TN has a huge population of Turkeys and growing every year! 5 of us that hunt together off and on, are getting really close to our 20 turkeys being killed!

Steven, my farm is overrun with turkeys this year. I've probably seen as many or more than any other years. If you want to take one off the farm, let me know...they are in my fields daily...upper field and lower.
