Same goes for a bunch I know in this part of the state. Lock jaw, big time for most.

Heck I know what they are doing in West TN, I just got back, and they die, in fact alot die ;\) Those birds like to gobble, to the point of ridiculous at times.

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this as well. The birds are hammering on the roost, gobbling about 4 or 5 times on the ground, then nothing, notta, zero.

I killed two nice toms in the first three days and I've been in a dead lock since. I'm taking my 12 year old brother tomorrow morning. Maybe we'll have some luck.

Heck I could handle that, this is silence from daylight until dark, spanning an area that is 150 or 200 miles wide.

Maybe I am just paying my dues after last weekend in West TN.

They were gobblin pretty good Wed morning over toward the Tn river. And I was still on 40 when they were on the roost, lol, so the ones that I heard(and worked) were gobblin long after they hit the ground. However, it was a still, warm, and what I consider to be perfect morning.

They are gobblin here Hook...I just can't seem to get set up on 'em. They gobbled at me last night when I whistled for the dog!! My inexperience at turkey hunting has never been more prevalent....good luck

They aren't gobbling much in the East Tn mountains I'm hunting. There is the occasional shock gobble, other than that their jaws are locked. I'm thinking if we can get about 10 straight warm days a switch will go off for them.
