Has anyone noticed an abundant increase in the number of jakes on thier property? I know I have, I can't walk 100 yards without seeing one. I seen about 15 this morning. There is either no toms around my property or thier just over run with jakes. Never seen anything like it. And they gobble just like a tom too really decieving and frustrating especially after you have done called up 3. Just noticed this on my place didn't know if anyone else was experiancing this?

We had a few on one farm I hunt but they have been killed already. On another place where they are protected(Thank the Lord) we have called up 7 so far. That is slightly above average.

Yep, lots of reports of gobbling jakes in south mid TN. I take it as a good sign for next year.

Yep...darn things are all over the places I hunt. The gobblers just kind of stand back and watch all the fuss before they come in if at all. I had 13 in one group come in and just assault my decoys. I had to just about run them off to keep them from tearing them all to pieces.

They are a nuisance this year, every where I have hunted has been infested with the dam things. I got into them today in the mtns, and they went flat crazy, then left unharmed.

called in 22 opening morning in 3 different bunches. Have never seen that many in one field before. May be they have not broken up yet.

Plenty here. One farm we hunt had at least 15, one had 12, and one had 9.
