Not many people know about this, so it would be rare for a fish to have ever seen this pattern. Now is the perfect time to try it. Good luck.

I wish I could remember when I first saw that. Could it have been Big Bill that did that segment? Taylor?????

Uh, as far as I know, I was the first and only. You prolly saw it on tndeer as I post it every year. Or in TVO where it was first published. The funny thing is that the guy I contacted to tie the first duct tape turtle still gets requests. They have them displayed in the shop, and I get ZERO royalties! He has sold dozens out of Game Fair even though it's a snipe hunt at best.

Funny, though, my first contact ever with Taylor was asking if I could attach the quote to Bill Dance.

“Baby turtle imitations are the best kept secret in the fishing world!”

Since that came out years ago, I've had several folks tell me they found baby turtles in largemouth stomachs. Heck, it may work at certain times of the year.

This one's old as dirt, but I still think it's clever...

We were up shallow when we saw a squirrel walking on a log that stretched across the lake. It was reaching out for an acorn on the end of that log when a big ole bass came out of the water and pulled the squirrel under. We looked at each other contemplating what we had just seen, when the water swirled again where the squirrel had been. While we were watching, that big bass brought another acorn up to the log. Them bass are smart!

Gil, every time I see this article, I sit there trying to think of a reason why it wouldn't work. I haven't thought of any yet.

One of these days I'm going to make one of those duct tape turtles and catch a bass on it just to spite you.

Gil- I think you are right. I did see it on here.

I'm working now to tape the commercial for my fart in a bottle catfish lure attractant. I'm hoping RSimms will endorse it.It is similar to Sham Wow! The difference is, people smell it and say....

You fill in the blanks \:\)

I have seen a bass, probably 4 pounds or so, swallow a baby turtle.

I know at least one has eaten them \:\)

If you ever watch the old fishing movie called "bigmouth" i believe it has an underwater video of a big female lg mouth bass clamping onto a big painted turtle and taking it away from her nest.
I did a google on it and found a short video on it..
It shows one taking a small duck and a small snapping turtle being attacked, but it doesn't show the big painted turtle that a big one clamps onto.

Never seen that one before. Cool shtuff, and I love the commentator's voice and tone. Especially on the nest, bass will move or eat most anything.
