Talking about wrist staps in another thread got me to wondering. How many of you hang your bow up while hunting?

I personally keep my bow in my lap with my hand already in my wrist stap and holding the bow. Unless I need to do some thing that requiers both hands. (Rattling, adding a layer of clothing, etc)

I have been busted on more than one occasion when reaching for my bow. That is a whole lot of movement especially if you have to move quick. I want to be ready for anything. Sometimes deer come in quick and sometimes they sneek up on you. I feel that you have to be READY every single second that you are in the woods.

Depends on which stand I'm using. My climbers both have bow holders. If I'm in a lock on I use a screw in bow hanger. I fidget a lot and have found if I read I sit still better. If I hang my bow I can hold a book easier.

When it gets cold I like to be able to put my hands in a handwarmer/pocket and the bow gets cold even with gloves on.

JayMc thats funny about you reading a book. I do something similar. I use my bow holder, and play texas hold'em on my cell phone!

My wife always wonders why we run out of minutes during hunting season.

I have to move to much to reach up and pull the bow off of the hanger in most of my trees.

I hunt out of a summit viper and I just lay the bow across the front bar with the stabilizer pointing out and slide the arm rests down over the string. It aint goin' no where.

I like to keep mine in my lap. But.... when I'm on my late season January bowhunt in Ohio, it's just too darn cold to even touch it for very long. I hang it then.

I hunt in a summit goliath and viper so I just lay it across the hand climber in front of me.

Me too on the lone wolf. I couldn't get my parallel limb bows to fit in the bow holder. Am I missing something?

They make an adaptor, but some diamond/bowtech bows wont fit due to the draw stop.

Get you an adaptor. I tihnk I saw them on the lone wolf site.

Great post, I wondered how I will be able to sit still in the stand this coming season and where I was going to keep my bow. I planned on reading as well, since I can't sit still very long. I will probably hang it. I wish I had more patience or I would hold on to the bow.
