I would set up above some of the steep ridges around between green fields. Have you hunted there before? There's quite a few birds there. Be careful of other hunters around you.

Looks like Cheatam is open all season this year. It has been only certain days but I can't find any dates in the Reg. Anybody else notice this?

There are birds on Cheatham but get to them before they become call shy. I haven't bird hunted there in several years but I know that back then, it was hard hunting after about week 3 due to the pressure. Good luck!

Thanks!
Someone else told me today that after the first couple of weeks the birds got shy.
Think I will go a few times this week since I have no work right now.
Going on my first hunt in Gallatin tomorrow!!!! :-D

Turn right on Hallums Field Road. Go to where Mickey killed the bobcat, just past that, you'll see a pine thicket on your right and a grown up clearcut on the left. Don't stop there. But just after that, you'll come to the place where Jesse spilled the Viennies on the buck's head. Don't stop there, either. Pretty soon, you'll come to the end of the road. Stop there and admire the view, then turn around and go back to where the old post road use to be.

Use to be a lot of turkeys there.

In other words, there is not one person on this thread that can tell you where the turkeys are, only where they have been.

I've killed a few birds up there when I was going to school at MTSU and I always noticed that they were easier to call toward the end of their hunts. Maybe just my luck. There are a lot of birds in there. One year I killed the 101st turkey.
