Caney fork river is hot right now or so they say. Went down yesterday and the market at Rock Island was out of minnows. Going back tommorrow morning and plan on a long day tree top hopping.

Like shopson said, watch your trees to get a clue on when to go. I've always found that when the redbuds start blooming that the crappie are starting to stage for their spawn and keep moving shallower (unless a cold front comes through and drops the water temp significantly). When the dogwoods start blooming you will normally find them in their spawning cover.

It's happening now on KY Lake and Barkley from what I'm hearing.

Correct, Ft. Loudon. I've understood in the past that certain fish species were "quarantined" from the table from that lake. However, I also am of the opinion that these "warnings" are always on the cautious side, and that in practice you could eat a reasonable quantity of fish from any waters so indicated, without any adverse effect. Eating a big mess each and every day(which nobody does) for an unlimited time might cause some problems.
