Just got a boat few weeks ago. I took it out last weakened and i could not get the fish finder working properly. It kept the same temp and never changed. It said the water temp was 68 and i know it was not even close to that. It also kept telling me that the depth was 30ft-80ft even though i could see the bottom of the water. I have the manual and have gone throught all the trouble shooting and still cant find problem. The tranducor is in the correct postion. DOes anyone know what would cause this.
Thanks
ps. its a lowerance brand

Is the depth finder new? it may be in demo mode or something?

I am having the same problem with a hummingbird. It worked fine for 2 years.

I would check your transducer, and if that doesn't fix I would check prices on a new unit as most repairs cost more than the unit, most of the time.

Sounds like it is in demo mode or a bad transducer.
