The man is getting awfully close to my Crappie hotspots

Good to see you again 7mm, and hope you all wore them out.

Share one with me.

Prater Flats was dead yesterday and the only ones biting were short and short biting-

Ventured into the main channel, but temp dropped to 58 and I could not get those fish to cooperate either.

I fished up Sinking Creek this afternoon, and we caught 5 million dinks (8" variety), they honestly were a plague. We did put 23 slabs in the livewell, and caught all of them on brush piles. Some we put out, some natural. There are some real dweebs on that part of the lake, so be prepared.

I've never really liked that creek too much for that reason. I've had people troll to arms length while I was casting.

You build any stakebeds in that creek? I know of one back in there that is built out of bamboo sticks. Someone put some time into making it.

We have got some in there, the problem with the stake beds there is that folks watch us put them out then hammer them. So now what we do is build a Xmas tree nest and make it look like we put it in one place, but actually drag it with the boat about 200 yards from where we drop it under. Works pretty well.

The second cove on the right, first inlet to the right inside that cove, about 20 yards off the bank in front of the giant castle house...

I grew up on Sinking Creek, and have caught boat loads of fish out of it. My biggest gripe about fishing it now is the no wake zone around Concord Marina that takes 10 minutes to idle through.

No kidding, it is awful. And half the folks don't obey it anyway.

I am out of my element fishing for crappie. Monday I go out and caught and released over 20 trout, and then go out on the lake and zero for crappie. I caught several yellow bass, bluegills, and a tennessee tarpon. I would rather be on the SC coast right now after redfish..My friend down in Beaufort got into some big ones 2 weeks ago.

My electronics went out yesterday on the ride over. I have to check my connections, so I was a little preoccupied with that yesterday. However, I have FINALLY found the mechanic for my boat. Chris and Brian at Louisville Marine and Bait FIXED my cold starting problem that took about 6 months of internet searching, other mechanics, and me fiddling with could not do. Starts and runs like the boat should run. It was a dirty selenoid on the choke. They fixed it while changing out my water pump. Yamaha V4 130hp on an old Flat's boat..

Don't worry Hook, I would rather be striper or trout fishing.. Crappie is something I do to pass the time away.

PS...Now that I know the general area I will put on my camo and hide out on the cliff to watch you, and get your spot!!!LOL However, next week you will probably be spending your time turkey hunting...what a life! And to think you made all that money modeling for GQ magazine.
