I started to pattern my shotgun today. I know its late to start but here are some of the results. 25 hits in the head in the bone, skull, and vitals at 35 yards with Winchester Supreme #5 in 3.5". If I recover I will shoot some of the Federal with flight control tomorrow and also try to pull the pattern in a little more but I think this will get the job done. What kind of patterns is everyone getting out of there rigs.

The first target looks fine for me, but I am not into taking 50 and 60 yard shots which is what the second pattern above is suited for.

It all depends on what you want. Super tight at 35 means extra super tight at 15 and 20 yards, and missed turkeys. A little open at 35 yards like yours is great for 35 yards and in which is where most turkeys should be harvested.

People want tighter and tighter patterns, and that is fine if all you shoot is 40+ yards. For me, and most I hunt with that simply is a recipe for disaster, missed birds.

I look for a consistent pattern, even separation, and very few fliers. I also want the center of my pattern on the center of the target. Your first target looks just fine to me.
