I bought one Saturday as I am a mouth call freak and have been collecting all the Woodhavens. This is the first Woodhaven I have tried that I dont like. It sounds very metallic, like one of those pot calls with an aluminum surface. Is that how its supposed to sound?

me too. I also like the copperhead and the Pro Series Classic V3. The Matt Van Cise is the first one that sounds "metallic".

I bought the 3 call "pro" kit, and didn`t care for any of them. Shows that I am not "pro" status. I do however fool those longvbeards occasionally with the Red wasp.
If you can find any new old stock Cannon Country "Venom" calls, get you a few. They have gone out of business, but made the finest mouth call money can buy for me.

I like my Matt Van Cise. Go to "Treetopturkeys" order that CD or just listen to some of those samples. It's 100% turkey sounds recorded in the woods with no editing. It's amazing the different pitches, sounds, etc. You will see there is a time and a place for every turkey call made.

I will check that site out. I know my cousin that I hunt with some has an aluminum pot call with a similar sound. One day in particular we couldnt strike a bird with anything else. He pulled that earsplitting thing out and one longbeard loved it. Gobbled all the way in.
