I have a tool designed to help when setting center-shot. The only problem is my bowstring is not in the center. The part of the cam where the string rides is not dead center of the cam. The top of the bow, with the round wheel is dead center.
Even when using the tool I am just guessing.

Any thoughts?

Some folks shoot through paper. I would google "paper tuning a bow" that'll get you close provided your arrow is spined correctly and you have no clearance issues

If you want to get really close try "walk back tunning"
You have to be a pretty consistant archer to make this one work, but it is great. Just google "walk back tuning"

I don't even use a tool to find center shot. I measure off the riser to the factory's center shot. Shoot throug paper to get the nocking point set right. and then walk back tune it for center shot.

If you can't get your center shot tool to work, eye ball it. Then walk back and broadhead tune. You need to broadhead tune anyway. I don't fool with paper tuning.

My bow is shooting pretty well. I did paper-tune then broadhead- tune. I just have this tool and didnt really know what to do with it since the center is not really the center.

I reckon I could use it as a slingshot or something.....

That is all you really need to know. If it is shooting well with B/H's and shoots well with field points, who cares if it is center shot or not. The purpose of center shot is get you where you need to be to shoot well... Congratulations, you are there!!

Set a block target about 10 ft away from you at the same level as your bow. Shoot the target. Your arrow will show you the kick right or left up or down. You can center your shots from there.

I eyeball, walk back tune (basically just setting pins and making sure they all fall in line) then broadhead tune. I dont care if my center shot is a half inch off if bh (I shoot muzzys) fly like darts and hit in tight groups...thats the true test IMO.

If this isnt happening I fiddle with the rest. Luckly, my bow has been dead nuts the past 3 years with no adjustments. I think this is a testement to a good quality aftermarket string.
