Does anybody know of particular places on Percy Priest that would be good to fish from the bank? I'm just looking to go out to the lake, enjoy the weather and catch some crappie or bass. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Go to the Smith Springs Recreation Area. Walk around the cove until you're facing back toward the ramp. Good area for spotted bass, occasional crappie, and I even caught a couple smaller hybrids there.

Charlie Brewer's crappie sliders always worked well for me on that stretch.

Stewarts Creek in Smyrna is great for bank fishing. Bunch of crappie beds and trails. East Fork of the Stones is accessible too.

Thanks a lot. I'll be sure to give these spots a try. I assume I'll have better luck once the water level rises.

Go while the water is low. You can look at where the structure is so you know where to target when it comes up. Also, where people have put up stakebeds and brush piles, sometimes they put more out beyond the low water line for the early season fish.

Yeah, I know there are a lot of stake beds and structure placed in the lake, so I was going to take a look at that. Thanks.

I couldnt talk my buddy into getting his boat out with the winds today so I hit the bank instead. Took my dogs and starting walking around Suggs/Vivrett creek. We hit em pretty good up there yesterday in his boat and today was just as good! There were plenty of other guys catching some crappie even in the winds but I stuck with the bass bite. Alot of dinks but a few good ones thrown in there also. Spinnerbait was the ticket and when the wind finally died down I switched back to the trusty ole rattletrap.

The highlight of the day though was when I looked up and saw this guy walking down toward me with a HUGE largemouth! This big girl had to be pushing 7 pounds or more! He must have walked at least 100 yards just for me to take a pic of this beast on his phone. I wish so bad now I would've snapped a pic with my phone too but we just wanted to get her back in the water. It took her a minute but she eventually swam off just fine! Definitely the biggest bass I've seen in a while!

Looks great MaxD! I'm still working on my techniques, but I'm looking forward to getting out there this week and seeing what I can catch.

I would have like to have seen that 7 pounder...sounds like a whopper.
