I think the 10" minimum is working just fine here .

I don't think you'd ever get a 12" limit passed here.

Even if you could, I don't think it would accomplish the same sort of results. Crappie growth rates on the reservoirs in Mississippi are faster. Their 12" fish and our 10" fish are probably not that much different in age.

This page has some data you should find interesting:

http://www.tennessee.gov/twra/fish/Reservoir/Research/crappie.html

Not conclusive by any means, but there may be reason to believe that some reservoirs in TN might actually benefit from LOWERING the size limit to 9" rather than raising it to 12".

There is no reason to put that law into place. I wish they would back it down to 9 3/4" personally \:D

There are plenty of 10" crappie out there, and our lakes are not as fertile as the lakes of the Miss drainage and will have a more difficult time growing fish to 12". Sure there are tons of them here now, but there are tons of 10", 8", and 6" as well. No problem with recruitment.

I am still pissed they lowered the limit to 15, from 30.

My geoography is a bit rustic, but isn't ALL of TN east of the Miissiissiippii floodplain?

BTW, my spelling is fine. I've always thought "Mississippi" could use more vowels.
