The Nitro loads win again! Is your Nitro load using #7 shot vs. #5 in the others?

I don't know if I would take many fifty yard shots. JMO
How does it pattern at 30?
The nitros seem to pattern the best out of the above but still not many pellets in the kill zone IMO.

looks good man. I have a couple nitros to try out in my 835 with the indian creek choke. I picked up some 4x5x7 and some straight 7s from final flight yesterday.

all are good, but for my wallet i'd shoot the win. doesn't take 10 pellets. Gave me an idea,i shot mine with a red dot scope today at 30 and had about 52 pellets head and neck, think i'll shoot 50 tomorrow just to see.

Just having adequate pattern density at 50 yards is only part of the equation. Go to #9 size shot and you can get even denser patterns. But I'd be very concerned about a #7 size (or smaller) shot having adequate pellet energy at 50 yards.
Just keep in mind, as impressive as those Nitro shells may be, part of what's making them impressive is using smaller size shot.

I agree...the duplex loads will usually give better patterns...but as far as energy goes, these pellets that made their way to the kill zone completely penetrated the ply wood that I was using as a backing to the targets. Not so with most of the lead pellets. I would think that if the heavishot will penetrate the plywood... a turkeys head and neck bones would be no problem. Again...I will only take a 50 yard shot if I have to. I enjoy callin them in close too..but things dont always work out that way in the turkey woods. I like having an extra few yards just in case I need them. Aint waitin on season FUN!!

TNtrapper, patterns look great at 30 yards. No worries IMO.

No need to worry about nitros effectiveness at 50 yards. They are toast.

nice patterns. I'm hoping I can get mine patterned this next weekend. This will be my first year shooting the 4x5x7 Nitros out of a 835 with the Jelly head 690 choke. Should be interesting to see what happens.

"69.99 + 6.82 tax for 10 Nitro H510C. Turkey hunting stuff must be recession proof."
Can't afford 7.50 per shot. Killed a lot of birds for $1.00 a trigger pull.
They should be #1 at that price.
