Next week the elite fishermen will be in Del rio. My brother says they will probably catch some unbelievable fish out of Amistad. Just thought some of you guys might want to kind of keep an eye on it. I remember a couple of years ago in March one pro was mad as a hornet because he had a "low" weight (he had a 5 fish limit that weighed in the 30's or something) he was mad because he had a 12 lb bass something like that and he felt he should have had an even larger 5 fish stringer. I cannot find the exact article I was looking for but they were catching 30 lb + stringers pretty regular, I saw one 36-10 stringer.

Talk about not caring for tournaments, I'm totally out of the loop. If you hadn't said bass, I would have guessed it was a redfish tournament out of coastal Texas or Louisiana. Since Del Rio is Spanish, I assume you mean a bass lake somewhere in the southwest. The only Amistad I've ever heard of was a slave ship and a movie.

I guess I don't get the channels that have tournaments because I haven't noticed one other than marlin and redfish in many years. I need some ejamacation.

Gil1, I almost never watch ANY hunting or fishing shows. If I see it on while flipping channels I will watch "the hunt for big fish". I do not watch anything, I will look at ESPN sometimes if I have time just to see if there is something interesting.

I have mentioned this several times, my brother is an outboard tech to the pros, he works the elite's, flw's and redfish tournaments along with boat shows. What is funny is sometimes I will call him (during the classic a couple of weeks ago for example) and he does not even know who is winning or losing or who is catching what. I know he is working keeping everything ready and he is usually standing on the dock when they blast off and come in you would think he would overhear something, but he does not even pay attenton to the fishing talk, I guess that is why he is so good at what he does.

Just a BTW- We are catching five-fish limits in the mid to upper 40's regularly. We had a fisherman in last week that had 63 topped by three over 9.

AL and a lot cheaper than Mejico.

I wasn't there. My assistant did the guiding. I'll be down there next week. I do know we have had 11 over nine pounds since Jan.1. Scott, been posting pictures for two years.
