We could make a long list of long range guns. I just picked up a 270 for a good long range west tn rifle. I considered a 308. I got a good deal on the 270 and it shoots alittle flater.

I find it hard to leave my .300 in the case. My .308 is my all around gun.

270 is good up to 300 yards.

25-06 is what I have used in Hardeman for years. Best bullet for this gun IMO is the Win silver tip 115 grain. Killed deer out to 340.
In the same league for a mid long range non magnium caliber Id ad the 270, 280, and 308. There are a bunch more that will do the job. 250 really isnt that long of a shot for most modern calibers.

Can't go wrong with a 30-06 a 308 Winchester or a 270 Winchester.
