my fav mouth calls from them as followed
1. Yellow Jacket (easy to blow and med/light raspy) 2. Red Wasp (very raspy but sounds fantastic) 3. Copperhead (med raspy and their #1 selling call)
the wing series is pretty good as well but i stick to the 3 above. Those are tried and true and i would bet that anyone that owns some of their calls has one of the 3 above.

I have tried the Cherry Crystal and liked the sound..The one I tried had a good break to it..Myself, if I were getting just one, I would get the glass..(I prefer glass over slate..jmo)

I have used all of them back before they were Woodhaven. We used to buy them in plastic ziplocks, or directly from Mike. His mouthcalls are world class IMO. I use the original Billy Yargus and think it is the best mouth call on the market, second is the comp. 3. The others are not worth putting in my mouth JMHO.
On his friction calls, they used to be the best available, especially the aluminum call. Now he has lost some of the quality IMO, and the crystal is about as good as they get in his line. His slate is good, his glass is horrible.
The price isn't that high considering the overall quality of the calls. They sound so much better then the plastic pot junk that companies like Primos, HS Strut, MAD, and others make. You really can tell a difference and there is no mistaking someone scratching on a junk plastic call in the woods. Sure they will kill turkeys, but they just won't kill as many maybe as a good quality call.
Bottom line, for the money the Woodhaven calls can't be beat. They really are not that expensive for what you get, and if you want even better try Darrin Dawkins, XT Calls, or Cody's top end World Class Slate ($100+ not the walmart junk). Call Mike and let him run some for you, and make your decision that way rather then through a catalog.
