shotgun choke scope ( Ya dont "need" a scope. Many longbeards die to a bead/fiber optic sights every year. scope mount ( Dont "need" unless you cave to the scope) patterning targets (I been using free cardboard boxes for years) turkey loads vest ( worth its weight in gold) snakeboots ( another optional item. When was the last time you heard of a hunter getting snakebit that wass not messing with the snake?) a few calls strut seat 100% Optional... your vest has a pad) a decoy or two just in case Thermacell ( Optional but darn nice to have) Sawyer Permethrin ( A must have in my county) rangefinder ( Optional, use your decoys as your range finder) GPS ( Pure option, learn to read a map and they are CHEAP online)

Funny stuff, my Dad started 15 years ago. He bought nothing but a box call and a slate call, headnet and gloves I think one foam hen decoy. Total of probably 50 bucks, he likes the cheap stuff. Add 2 boxes of shells, remington and winchester. He only bought those because he wanted to see which one pattenered the best. Oh yeah, he was shooting a remingotn 1100 2 3/4" shells with an Improved cylinder choke. His range was 25 yards and he killed doing this.
There was a total of $50 bucks spent that year and the only money spent after that the following years was a new box of shells.
You dont "NEED" anything but a couple good sounding calls, camo if you dont already have it, maybe a decoy or 2, and a box of shells. Throw in some bug spray and you can kill turkeys like anyone else.

wasting away my life in the woods (as the wife says) priceless It is priceless.
Whether you choose to spend thousands on your turkey hunting, or just a few dollars . . . . .

I've owned all the junk at one time. Someone decided to break into my house and make it theirs. I now hunt with a shotgun, shells, couple of mouth calls, and something to sit on. Sure feels good not carrying all that stuff through the woods.
