Gil, in that first pic of you with a brown, your fly is open. Never saw pants with a horizontal fly before, but you always were sort of leading edge.

Was the fishing better near the dam or farther down? Most of the pics with fish seem farther down, but I don't know th ebanks that well to tell for sure.

I plan to head over there Thursday or Friday if work stays slow and the weather cooperates.

We went up to the dam while they were generating because there has intermittently been a shad kill over the last month. Unfortunately, it was warm, and the shad pattern didn't work. So then you're stuck trying to fly fish in high water, and that's usually a low percentage game. We didn't get many bites until after the generators had been shut off for about an hour.

The further the water went down and the longer the fish had to acclimate to the change, the better the fishing was. In other words, I don't think it had anything to do with the section of river, more the river flow. We only got one bite all day on streamers, and that was a big brown as it got cloudy and later in the day. Of course, I lost the mutha scratcha. Then I broke my streamer rod when my back cast got caught up in Jack's, so strippin' was out.

If I were to do it all over again (assuming no shad kill), I would start way down river and fish low water before the water came up. Man, good luck, and give us a report.
