Any thoughts on this new Federal Mag-Shok HEAVYWEIGHT Turkey?

Unlike all the other versions of "hevi" shot, this one is much "hevier".
Winchester's Extended Range loads are advertised as having shot 10% heavier than lead. I think the "Hevi-13" loads are 15% heavier than lead. These new Federal HEAVYWEIGHTS are supposed to be 30% heavier than lead!
Federal states their new #7 size HEAVYWEIGHT shot has the same per pellet energy at 40 yards as a #5 standard lead pellet while offering a much denser pattern.

Hmmm,
I don't think you can legally use #7 shot in TN unless the regs have changed. But that would make for an insanely dense pattern at longer distances compared to the larger shot sizes. Maybe TWRA should investigate the claims and if it's everything it's cracked up to be then legalize #7 heavyweight shot.

I used the federal turkey loads for years, Then they came out with the flight control system. The flight control loads pattern best with a non-ported turkey choke. A ported choke will tear away the wad from the load giving you a not so great pattern.

The only reg regarding shot size says it can be no larger than #4 shot.

My mossberg 835 doesnt like any of the hevi-shot. Winchester Supreme #5's pattern much better out of my set up.

I've shot the standard feds with flightcontrol wads for the last couple of years and killed one at 52 steps last year. I have shot remingtons, winchesters and feds.. Feds by far shoot the best. I shoot #6 in 3.5in mags
