I just got back from Colorado and got a nice 3 X 4 bull and I found a old piece of wood and some old barbed wire and am going to wrap the edge of wood with barbed wire and attached skull capped elk antlers. You could go extra and use barbed wire for year killed also. Kinda rustic.

I like them all , have a friend that takes his smaller racks and throws them under the brown bear full mount in his den. This year he put a 9 point that I would have had mounted and been braggin proud there.
I am from now on going to do the full skull look on smaller racks . Using the old board look.

I took an old rack plaque, copied and cut it out, on a just a cheap piece of plywood. While I had a "green" deerskin I stretched it over the plaque and tacked it down on the back side. This way it would dry to the plaque. Bolt your antlers or skull mount to the plaque. Looks good and after 8 years there's still no hair slippage.
