My son just moved to Harlan Kentucky. He is working for the corp of engineers at Martins Fork Lake. Has anyone turkey hunted this area? Any info would be appreciated!

Im sure there are a few turkeys there. I would start there doing some scouting in the national forest. Get some maps and have at it.

Correct - Zone 4.........but that only affects deer hunting. There are no zones for turkey, just a limit of two during the spring season.
Too far away from me but I'm sure there are turkeys there.
Probably go to their website and find much more info on the population there:

Harlan is a good 2 hour drive from DB Natl Forest. There are some public hunting lands in the area, formerly strip-mining areas, like Mountain Drive. Rough terrain. I would contact a member of the NWTF. It may not be too late for a Banquet.

There are at least 2 WMA's in this area and they all have turkeys on them. Martin Fork WMA and Cranks Creek WMA. It's hard hunting, Steep Mountains. Try here:
