I think TnDeer should have an annual turkey calling contest. Every member should be allowed to participate for a small fee. All the moderators could be the judges. It could be in Nashville since that is a good middle meeting ground. The proceeds going to the TnDeer website. This would be a great way to pick up some more sponsors to filter in some money.
Just a thought.
It could be structured like all other calling contests

It could be split up in deer hunting units. The top callers from each Unit come together in Nashville for the finals. Charge people $5 to attend the contest and festivities. I guarantee sponsors would be all over it.
This could be included in VOUS also.

I like the unit ideal. Have each person who wants to compete in there unit meet. They can be scored and the top 2 will go to the finals some place not sure where. I do think you will get more callers by unit.
We could do a 50/50 cash prize 50% to the winner and the other 50% to TNDEER.
Or, take all the money and buy a new shot gun and let it be the grand prize. Have 1st,2nd and 3rd place gift cards to Bass Pro or something. JMO.
