I'm not as knowledgeable about what's behind size limits as I should be so forgive me for being ignorant on this issue.

What is the purpose behind the size limit on Priest as opposed to other waters? Maybe it's because I fish for meat about as much as I fish for fun, but it seems a bit backwards to me. Wouldn't a slot be better? Allow some bass to be kept and eaten and leave the bigger ones in the lake? I hold no grudge against the bass when it comes to making a meal. I just have to go to other waters to collect them unless I happen upon a spotted one in Priest.

Again, I'm totally ignorant on what's behind the regulation. I'm just curious.

I'm a catch and release bass guy because that's what trips my trigger. That being said, I TOTALLY AGREE! I can't tell you how many largemouth I catch on Priest that are just under 15 inches. I think folks should be able to eat a few under that size. It is backwards-azz IMO.

And thats a shame.

You talk about some good eatin... Mama knows child! \:\)

I'd rather eat a spot than a crappie if the waters colder than 60 degrees.

I agree. I'm pretty sure I've heard a few other guys say the same thing. A slot limit would make more since.

I'd like to hear one good reason why keeping the current 15' limit is good for that lake...as opposed to a slot limit where bigger fish are protected.

Well at least I'm not alone. I didn't know what to expect when posting this.

I've thought about writing a letter to the commission. From what I've heard I'd receive a lot of opposition.

I opposed the size limit from day one. It makes no sense. It has done no good and I for one, think we should open the the little screw thingie in the bottom of the dam and let the water out.

Slot limit-yes, you bet, I'm for it.
Maximum size limit-yes, you bet I'll vote for that.
Minimum size limit-he11 no. Let's open the petcock.

In fact, this year, I am going to ignore both the size and creel limit on Priest just to show my opposition.

And y'all think I am kidding. I may expand that to Old Chickory.
