Took my buddy and his son out for a little redneckin' at the Gallatin steam plant. It was by far the slowest skipjack trip I've ever been on, but we still had a ball. William (15) caught his first fish on a fly rod (and several more).

I really wanted to go that day, but my boat is in the shop for repairs. So I spent the day doing a few chores, including butchering a deer and making 30 pounds of sausage and bratwurst.

Cut their heads off and gut them. Then just pickle them as you would any other fish. They taste like sardines. I like them with a drop or two of Louisiana hot sauce.
