After a fun Day One, I headed back out with Ray & Sue Nowak from Chicago. When I woke up at 5 am and heard the monsoon outside, I was worried. But the front moved through at daylight and it ended up being a beautiful day to fish.

We started out on crappie. That was kind of tough. We only caught 7 or 8... actually caught more bass than crappie, including a bragging-sized brown fish Ray stuck on a little black & chartruese slider. Big fun on 4# ultralight!

We started on catfish about 11:30. It was tough... but the Nowak's are hardcore musky anglers, so they're used to low numbers (Good thing )

We only managed to stick six cats today... but fortunately two of them were real good fish... a 30 lber. and a 31.

The fish fought like demons today... on the two big ones Sue had to hold on for dear life!

The other four fish were decent... 10-15 lb. class.

So it was a pretty darn decent winter cat day in my book. Which means life is good and gettin' better every day!
