I wanted to get the boat out on the water because I haven't ran it for a few months , and headed to Laurel Hill lake . Boat ran great , love the 4 stroke Merc . Started right up .
I caught a few bass on a jigging spoon , down around 25-30 ft. , nothing huge , but it was good to get out on the water again .

I was thinking about going tomorrow myself. Hard to go hunting in 70 degree weather.

Wind isn't a problem on Tims Ford. The big smallies should be on.

Not even 20-30 mph winds ? I have never fished Tims Ford . Good luck if you go . \:\)

I have been up near the bridge in 15-20 nph winds and it was rough , I can't imagine how rough it gets with a 30 mph south wind . \:o

With most of the land surrounding it being steep and high. The wind isn't usually a problem on most places on the lake. If you've never fished it you need to make a trip down and we will go. Mid Feb. and first of march is good to excellent for smallies. I can't promise you a alot of fish but, I was lucky enough to catch several over 5 lbs. last year.

It's got to be very dangerous. I've fished there with south winds gusting to probably 20 and it was ridiculous. I was fishin in Standing Rock creek and the the wind had a straight shot all the way down Big Sandy, across KY lake, and into the screek I was fishing.

One of them deals where you spear every other wave just tryin to idle out. Didn't take long for me to get back down south! \:\)
