I see a lot of girls bow hunting in TV that can't be drawing 60#,and they kill some big game.

I was concerned when I bought 60# limbs on my Drenalin for hunting. Thought it would be so slow deer would jump the string.

They don't,and it get's the job done well.

Shoot the poundage you can handle and are comfortable shooting often to allow a lot of pratice. Good shot placement of a good broadhead will kill at less than 70#.

I don't think I'd go the 70 pound route for target shooting. That is a lot of wasted energy for a foam target. But my arena has 280 speed limits so if I had target bow now days it would be a 50 pounder I think. I'm struggling to get this 60 pounder down under 280 with a target arrow.

With technology today if you know how to tune and manipulate your set up, you can have a 60 rig shoot as fast as a 70. IMO with a 70 vs 60 rig you are gaining minimal speed. that being said you can shoot a much heavier(thicker spined) arrow with 70 which some perfer for a hunting situation. Shoot what is comforatble and gives you the results that you want. Some guys perfer a Ford over a Farrari. Not me though I'm a Chevy guylol

62# I firmly believe you don't gain enough shooting 70+ to merit the extra poundage!

61lbs. Shoulder issues constituted a drop from 70lbs.

Good stragety.
I can draw 70#,but shoot better at 60.
The benefits of less DW can outweigh the slower arrow speed.

What good is speed if you can't shoot it as well?

I'll take shot placement over speed anyday.
